UEFers in Korean-ASEAN Youth Ambassador Program 2023: The only representatives of Ho Chi Minh City

07/27/2023

From July 26 to August 1, the Korean - ASEAN Youth Ambassador Program 2023 was organized by the Busan Foundation for International Cooperation (BFIC) in partnership with Tourism Promotion Organization for Asia Pacific Cities (TPO), aiming to build leadership skills through multiple community engagement activities between Korean and ASEAN youngsters. Among others, UEF is proud to have 3 students attend the program as the only representatives of the Ho Chi Minh region.

The excellent trio from the Faculty of International Relations competed with many candidates and secured their seats in the program, including Vu Nguyen Chi Cuong (junior), Le Minh Anh (junior), and Vo Khanh Hoang Kim (freshman).

The 3 UEF students are the only representatives of Ho Chi Minh region to attend

Joining our representatives from UEF were other peers from the Central and Northern region of Vietnam, alongside those from other countries, namely China, Thailand, Malaysia, Dominican Republic.

Some engaging activities within the program involved: exploring the history at German village and Hanbam village, visiting Sinjeon Tteokbokki museum, taking a walk in traditional markets, and trying on traditional Korean hanbok.

Our representatives had many exhilarating experiences with students from around the globe

The Korean - ASEAN Youth Ambassador Program 2023 was aimed to guide future global leaders working together, building up global skill sets through social engagement events with the youth from Korea and ASEAN countries.

Three main contents of this year’s program included: Explore Korean culture through academic curricula and practical activities in Busan, Namhae, and Daegu; Acknowledge the pros and cons of South Korean tourism industry; as well as to exchange cultures between ASEAN countries and Korea.

Having students chosen to participate in these programs partly confirmed that UEF is a global training environment, where students learn and practice global integrating skills. We hope our students are able to gain practical perspectives, strengthen their leadership skills, and also have memorable international experiences during their time in Korea.
