Vietnam - Southeast Asia Friendship Association welcomes new member: UEF

JUNE 10 – UEF was acknowledged as a Branch with its new Executive Committee members at the Vietnam - Southeast Asia Friendship Association Congress.

The Congress drew the participation of Consuls from various countries, such as Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, Malaysia, and Indonesia, to name a few, Head of Department of Society and Culture under the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Council, Chief Representatives of Central Committee’s ASEAN Economic Cooperation Commission, State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, Municipal Commission of Mass Mobilization, Department of Home Affairs, Standing Agency of Union of Friendship Organizations from 4 provinces, Binh Duong, Ben Tre, Dong Nai, and Can Tho, and leaders from Vietnam’s bilateral friendship branches including Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, and Malaysia.

Representing UEF were Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc – Vice President & Director, Ms. Huynh Tu Anh – Deputy Director from UEF International Institute, Dr. Tran Thanh Huyen – Dean, Faculty of International Relations, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Thoai – Vice Dean, Mr. Le The Hien – Faculty member from Faculty of Hospitality & Tourism Management, and UEFers.

On behalf of ASEAN Consul Generals, Mr. Sok Dareth – Cambodian Consul General, expressed his deepest congratulation to the Executive Committee of the Vietnam - Southeast Asia Friendship Association for the 2022-2027 term.

A new Executive Committee was established, involving 5 UEF members, Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc – Vice President & Director, International Institute, as President, Dr. Tran Thanh Huyen – Dean, Faculty of International Relations, as Vice President, Mr. Huynh Quoc Phong – Director, Center of Corporate Relations, as Member, Mr. Le The Hien – Faculty member of Tourism & Hospitality Management, as Member, and Ms. Huynh Tu Anh – Deputy Director, International Institute, taking on the Secretary role.





The congress built bridges between Vietnam and ASEAN countries


UEFers dressed in their national costumes and presented brief English introductions about ASEAN countries, boldly displaying their foreign language competence in front of international leaders, so leaving a deep and favourable impression on ASEAN Consul Generals.

The Congress took place successfully, laying a firm foundation to cement a cooperative relationship between Vietnam and ASEAN countries, and offering UEFers practical knowledge and diverse perspectives about Vietnam's international friendship relations. Moreover, becoming a member of the Vietnam - Southeast Asia Friendship Association,  UEF aims to provide students with opportunities for international exchange, connection, and learning.
